Sir David Henshaw - Interim Chair

Sir David Henshaw

In October 2025, NHS England confirmed Sir David Henshaw as the Interim Chair of NHS Cheshire and Merseyside for a period of up to 18 months.

Previously Joint Chair for Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, Sir David was also Chair of Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust between February 2011 and February 2019.
 
Earlier in his career, Sir David was Chair of the North West Strategic Health Authority and Chief Executive of Liverpool City Council.

He was also responsible for the review of the child support system in the UK in 2007 and was involved in the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit Capability Review of central government departments.
