Last month, Voluntary Sector North West (VSNW) joined partners from across Cheshire and Merseyside for a webinar focused on embedding the voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise sector in neighbourhood health.

The session featured insights from Sefton and St Helens, both selected pioneer areas within the Neighbourhood Health Implementation Programme and showcased local approaches to integrated neighbourhood working.

The slides and full recording from the session are now available.

Key themes included:

  • National ambitions for neighbourhood health and the 43 pioneer areas, including two in Cheshire and Merseyside
  • How Sefton and St Helens are developing integrated neighbourhood teams with strong voluntary sector involvement
  • Community-led programmes, data-driven approaches, and local partnership models
  • Ongoing challenges relating to funding, data sharing, and sustainable delivery

Neighbourhood health continues to offer opportunities for more preventative, person-centred, and community-rooted models of care. The webinar highlighted what this looks like locally and the role the VCFSE sector plays in shaping it.
