On 21 October, a national public conversation was launched about the future of the health service and NHS Cheshire and Merseyside is helping to co-ordinate some of the related local engagement activity.

NHS staff, patients and members of the public are all invited to visit change.nhs.uk to take part. Your thoughts and feedback will help to shape the next 10-year plan for the health service. Please do take the time to share your views.

A week earlier, on 14 October, The 2024 NHS Parliamentary Awards were held in Westminster to celebrate NHS colleagues who not only consistently go above and beyond to support patients, but are leading lights with regard to innovation and improvement.

We were proud to see two winners from Cheshire and Merseyside, and would like to congratulate our colleagues at Liverpool University Hospitals and The Walton Centre on this tremendous achievement.

As I'm sure you know, winter is typically the most difficult time for the NHS. That's just one of the reasons why we will be supporting Self Care Week from 18 to 24 November to encourage everyone to do their bit to help keep services available for those who need them most.

Finally, the nation will observe Remembrance Day on Sunday 10 and Armistice Day on Monday 11 November. NHS Cheshire and Merseyside is proud to be an accredited armed forces-friendly employer and will be using this period to pay tribute to servicemen and women past and present.
