Festival of Beautiful Ideas

13 April 2017

Festival of Beautiful Ideas: Wirral launches

The inaugural Festival of Beautiful Ideas begins this month. From April 23 to 27 you’re invited to join us to share an idea that can have further impact on making Birkenhead and Woodside a great place to live and work. Come along, get ready to collaborate, and help reignite Wirral’s long history of ideas and innovation.

Focusing inspiration and energy on Birkenhead and Woodside, the week-long festival run by the Beautiful Ideas Company sees a series of events and ‘hack days’, taking place around the area. They’re an opportunity for people to talk about ideas, share opportunities and get inspired.

Each event taps into the opportunities highlighted for the Festival of Beautiful Ideas, including music and events; food and drink; making and manufacturing and places and spaces, to show people with bright ideas some of Wirral’s unique and under-utilised spaces. It’s about cultural potential; reclaiming Wirral’s industrial heritage; pop-ups, meanwhile spaces and  most importantly  collaboration. We’re not only looking for ideas, but we’re looking for people who are willing to offer opportunities and challenges to be met by our entrepreneurs, or can support them in any way.

The festival ends with an event on April 27, where people will be able to showcase their ideas. The best ideas will benefit from a funding pot of £5,000, designed to help take ideas to the next stage of development. Funded work space and mentoring for some of the winners will also be provided by Wirral Chamber.

#WirralPlays Music and Culture hack, 6pm to 9pm, Gallagher’s Pub

Following the Hack events there will be the opportunity to Hone your pitch on Wednesday 26 April, 10am-2:30pm, Pacific Road. Here you can  talk to our team to help hone your idea and include it in the final pitch and exhibition to be held at Pacific Road Sheds on 27 April. We’ll help you work out what you need, and how to sell your story to the people who can help you make it happen.

Every successful enterprise starts with an idea - so if you have one bring it along.
